Maritime transport: IMDG 8 correct technical name — Hypochlorite solution, class packing III.
Air transport: ICAO/IATA — 8, the correct technical name — Hypochlorite solution, warning labels ICAO — Corrosive (corrosive).

Hazardous properties:
Sodium hypochlorite is classified as corrosive substance,C; R31-34 and is not classified as a substance dangerous to the environment. A solution of sodium hypochlorite is a strong alkaline oxidizing agent. It is corrosive, especially damaging to eyes. Contact with acid released toxic gas, irritating the eyes and respiratory organs. Contact with acid released toxic chlorine gas.

Hazardous ingredients:
Ingredient name — sodium Hypochlorite, NaClO, the Content — 170-190 g/l, a Warning sign, of a reservation "R" C, N; R31-34-50, EC Number: 231-668-3. Ingredient name — sodium Hydroxide, NaOH, the Content -20-30 g/l, a Warning sign, of a reservation "R" — C; R35. EC number: 215-185-5.

Stability and reactivity:
To avoid the ingress of foreign substances, direct light and temperatures above 20 °C. the sodium Hypochlorite decomposes spontaneously, and produce salt and oxygen. Most metals rapidly is being eroded under the influence of sodium hypochlorite, causing the decomposition of sodium hypochlorite. Acids and acid-reacting substances cause the release of gaseous chlorine. Overheating can also cause the release of gaseous chlorine. Due to the low pH and increase the temperature of the sodium hypochlorite decomposes into sodium chlorate and salt. As a result of ingress of foreign matter (e.g. metal ions), the chemical decomposes into salt and oxygen.

Impact on human health:
The reagent is irritating to the skin, mucous membranes and eyes. Especially hazardous to the eyes. Repeated or long term skin contact may cause skin irritation or eczema. Ingestion may cause corrosion of the digestive system. A symptom of this is severe pain and in serious cases loss of consciousness.
