PVC is not thermally stable polymer in order to improve thermal stability of blends of PVC and can be recycled, using special additives – heat stabilizers. The effect of the stabilizers based on the fact that they either prevent the elimination of hydrogen chloride from the polymer, or catch utsepilsya hydrogen chloride.
Heat stabilizers perform the functions of providing thermal stability of the PVC compound during processing and in the operation process of PVC products.
Heat stabilizers differ in chemical composition, appearance, and state of aggregation (liquid and solid). A very important feature is the mutual strengthening effect (synergistic effect), therefore, it is often used for thermal stabilization not just one but two or more kinds of heat stabilizers.
