CALCINED KAOLIN

Calcined kaolin obtained when high-temperature treatment of kaolin (1000-1150 C), no changes of the mineralogical composition and the formation of sillimanite and mullite. At this temperature there is a complete destruction of the amorphous structure of metakaolin. Calcined kaolin has high color optical performance, opacifying properties and a high covering power, high hardness (up to 3-4 items) and a specific gravity of 2.6-2.7 g/cm3.

Varnish industry

Due to the flake shape of particles, their developed surface, the calcined kaolin has a high diffusion of light and good covering power, allowing you to make significant savings as white and colored pigments.
The increased hardness of the calcined kaolin increases the durability of coatings and gives them additional strength.
The use of kaolin can reduce the rheological properties of the coating, to give it elasticity.

Paper industry

In the paper industry kaolin is used very fine stamps. Kaolin is used to give the paper a smoother surface, low abrasiveness, high density and its hardening.
Kaolin is used in pigmented formulations to give the brightness and whiteness of the coating in the highest quality grades of paper. Kaolin used for coating paper to hide or change the color of the paper base, to make it opaque. The process of the paper coating makes it microporous, which allows you to better absorb the printing ink and obtain more vivid colors of the print, greatly improving print quality.
Plastic

With advanced electrical and thermal properties, kaolin is widely used for the production of highly filled plastics and thermoplastics. Kaolin is added in the production of membranes for various types of cables and fireproof materials.
The use of kaolin allows to increase the durability of plastics and increase the service life of the materials obtained. So the introduction of kaolin in PVC, can give the polymer the opacity, to increase the hardness and increase the resistance, thereby slowing the aging process of the polymer.
