Acetic acid 70%, 80%, 99.8%

Acetic acid 70%, 80%, and 99.8%
Synonym: atanova acid, metacarbonate acid
Chemical formula: CH3COOH
Pure acetic acid was first artificially obtained (synthesized) from a number of inorganic chemicals in the late 19th century. After a few dozen years, the global industry produced more than ten thousand tons of acetic acid annually, mainly for the further synthesis of artificial dyes and food additives.
To date, the total production of acetic acid is about 15 million tons per year. The increased demand for acetic acid is due to the extremely wide range of application: it is used as a starting component for the synthesis of more complex compounds, used in food and medical industries.

Physico-chemical properties
Chemical activity and related properties of acetic acid depend on the concentration in the solution. A solution of acetic acid containing from 99% to 99.9% basic substance, is considered to be chemically pure (so-called "glacial acetic acid"). One hundred percent acid content are impossible because of the high reactive ability and water absorption.
The limit is a weak acid, normally — transparent liquid, with a very characteristic, pungent odor. Extremely hygroscopic, soluble in water in unlimited quantities. A strong organic solvent, reacts with chlorides, bromides, hydrocarbons and free gas.
Has local irritating properties. At concentrations greater than 30%, causes burns. Toxic if ingested in quantities of 20 ml. When the need to observe safety precautions.
Some properties of acetic acid vary depending on the content in the solution. Thus, concentrated solutions have a large boiling point:
Acetic acid 99,8% — 118 0 C;
Acetic acid 80% — 105 0C;
Acetic acid 70% — 103 0C;
Slightly changing the reactivity. Glacial acetic acid is apt to form an electrolyte mixture with dissolved substances.
Application
Acetic acid solutions are applied in the following industries:
The production of medicines;
As solvent;
As the catalyst or reaction medium in the synthesis of other compounds;
in the manufacture of plastics, dyes.
In the food industry at low concentrations (3% to 15%).
Warranty period of storage: 1 year.
Package and transportation. Acetic acid in various concentrations stored and shipped in a sturdy steel or aluminum containers. The transport must be in accordance with the rules of transportation of hazardous chemicals.
