Technical specifications of salt
Technical salt is an effective deicing material. Technical salt has a number of advantages: affordable, effective at low temperatures, easy to apply.
It is designed for clean-up in any temperature range up to – 30 °C.
The advantages of technical salt is the cheapness and efficiency of means to combat the ice, it lowers the adhesion force of ice to the road surface due to the formation brine. Sodium chloride (NaCl) is included in the technical salt in 96-97%.
Technical salt free-flowing crystalline product. Not allowed the presence of extraneous mechanical impurities not related to the origin and method of production of salt.
Technical taste salt — salty, without foreign tastes.
The color of salt – often white, sometimes yellowish grey with different shades associated from the field and the method of salt production. The presence of dark particles allowed within the content of iron oxide and insoluble residue.
The smell of industrial salt – not present, no foreign smell.

Technical salt has a wide industrial application. In the oil sector technical salt is used for thawing of soil: saline solution is poured into wells, and under pressure gets into the soil, contributing to the process of melting.
Technical salt used as a deicing material to the roads in the winter time. Technical salt is used for chemical cleaning of boiler for water and heating systems open and closed for water softening in industrial and household devices. Salt is used for the manufacture of washing powder, glass, paper, soda.

MELTING TECHNICAL INDICATOR OF SALT AS A DEICING MATERIAL (HPM).
The main indicator of deicing material – ability to effectively melt ice. It understands the amount of ice in grams that can melt one gram of road salt. Melting ability of the reagent depends on the rate of its dissolution and the amount of heat released or absorbed by it.
