Benzyl Alcohol

Benzyl alcohol is the simplest aromatic alcohol, presenting as a clear, colorless liquid with a mild, pleasant odor (reminiscent of almonds or a light floral scent). It is an excellent polar solvent with low toxicity and low vapor pressure. Due to its chemical properties, the product easily mixes with most organic solvents (alcohols, ethers, chloroform) and is partially soluble in water. Benzyl alcohol is highly demanded in the chemical, construction, paint and coatings, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries.

Applications

Paint and varnish industry: Used as a highly effective solvent for epoxy resins, paints, and varnishes, as well as a coalescing agent (film former) in water-based paints.
