Tetrasodium EDTA (Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid tetrasodium salt) is a highly effective chelating agent (sequestering agent) that acts as a key component for binding hardness ions and heavy metals in aqueous solutions. The product is available as a white crystalline powder or a clear aqueous solution, both highly soluble in water. Due to its outstanding ability to prevent precipitation, break down limescale, and boost the cleaning power of surfactants, Tetrasodium EDTA is essential in the production of household and industrial detergents, car care chemicals, textiles, and pulp and paper processing.
Applications
Household Detergent Production: Formulated into liquid and powder detergents, laundry powders, soaps, and shampoos to soften water, prevent product turbidity, and enhance foaming stability.
Industrial Cleaning & Car Care: Used in the manufacturing of touchless car wash shampoos, descalers, and rust removers to clean industrial equipment, boilers, and pipelines from scale and hardness deposits.
Textile & Paper Industries: Applied during pulp and textile bleaching stages to bind heavy metal ions (Fe, Mn) that could otherwise catalyze the decomposition of bleaching agents like hydrogen peroxide.
Cosmetics & Personal Care: Acts as a synergistic preservative and stabilizer in creams, lotions, and toners, preventing oil oxidation and discoloration caused by trace metal ions.

Storage & Transportation

- Avoid direct sunlight and prolonged exposure to air, as the powder form is hygroscopic and can absorb ambient moisture.
- Transportable by all modes of covered transport, provided temperature requirements are met. The product is non-hazardous for transport (not restricted under ADR regulations). Shelf life is 2–3 years from the production date (depending on the physical form).
