Caustic Soda Flakes (Sodium Hydroxide, Lye) is a highly efficient, strong alkaline compound that comes in the form of odorless, white flakes. The product exhibits excellent solubility in water, releasing a significant amount of heat during the process. Due to its high chemical reactivity, capacity for saponifying fats, and pH-regulating properties, caustic soda is an indispensable base component in the textile, chemical, pulp and paper industries, as well as in the production of detergents.
Applications
Textile Industry: Used for the mercerization of cotton (treating fabrics to increase luster, strength, and improve dye affinity). Applied in scouring and bleaching processes for textile materials, as well as for cleaning equipment from organic residues.
Household and Industrial Chemicals Production: Serves as a key component in soap making and the formulation of liquid and solid detergents. Used to saponify fats and neutralize fatty acids in cleaning pastes and powders.
Pulp and Paper Industry: Employed in the sulfate cooking of wood pulp, delignification of wood, and in bleaching processes for paper and cardboard.
Chemical and Petrochemical Industry: Used for neutralizing acids, refining petroleum products, producing pure metals, and as a catalyst or reagent in organic and inorganic synthesis.

- Transportation is permitted by all modes of covered transport in strict compliance with the regulations for shipping hazardous goods.
- Attention: This material belongs to Hazard Class 2 (highly hazardous substances, corrosive). Personal protective equipment (goggles, gloves, respirator) must be worn when handling.
