Pigment Paste (Colorant)

Pigment paste (colorant paste) is a highly concentrated suspension of organic or inorganic pigments in a special dispersion medium (with or without a binder). It presents as a thick, homogeneous mass of rich color. It is widely used in industry for tinting various materials, giving them the required shade and opacity. It ensures uniform color distribution, high brightness, and stable characteristics of finished coatings and products.

Applications

Paint and coating industry: Used for tinting water-dispersion, alkyd, epoxy, polyurethane, and other types of paints, enamels, varnishes, and primers. Allows obtaining a wide palette of shades with high color accuracy and excellent opacity.

Production of polymers and composites: Applied for mass-dyeing of polyester and epoxy resins, gelcoats, polyurethane foams, PVC compounds, and silicones. Ensures uniform color distribution throughout the volume of the finished product.

Construction and dry mixes: Serves to color concrete, cement and gypsum plasters, joint grouts, self-leveling floors, and facade materials. Enhances the aesthetic appeal and decorative properties of construction coatings.

Textile and leather industries: Used in dyeing and printing processes on fabrics, as well as for surface and volume dyeing of artificial leather, PVC, and PU coatings.

Key Advantages

High concentration and opacity: Contains the maximum amount of finely ground coloring matter. This provides high tinting strength, rich color, and economical consumption even with a minimal input percentage (usually from 0.1% to 5%).

Excellent compatibility: A specially formulated recipe allows the paste to mix easily and evenly with base materials without forming lumps, separation, pigment flocculation, or deteriorating the physical and mechanical properties of the base.

Light- and weather-resistance: The use of high-quality lightfast pigments guarantees color resistance to fading under UV rays and the negative impact of weather factors (especially important for exterior applications).

Storage stability: An optimized composition with the addition of dispersants and stabilizers prevents drying out, the formation of a dense film on the surface, and hard sediment at the bottom of the container, ensuring a long shelf life.

Storage & Transportation

Store in tightly closed original containers in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area at temperatures from +5°C to +30°C.
Protect from freezing (especially for water-based pastes). Store away from direct sunlight and heating devices.
During long-term storage, slight separation of the product is permissible. Before use, the paste must be thoroughly mixed until completely homogeneous.
Shelf life: usually from 12 to 36 months from the date of manufacture (subject to strict compliance with temperature conditions and container tightness).
