General Chemistry

Anion Resin 17-8

Formula: R-ОН, R-Сl GOST/CAS: ГОСТ 20301-74 / CAS 69011-18-3

Anionite 17-8 is a high-performance, strongly basic gel-type anion exchange resin featuring high operating capacity and excellent osmotic stability. The product presents as spherical beads ranging from light yellow to deep amber in color. Due to its outstanding capability to effectively remove both strong and weak acid anions (including silicic and carbonic acids) from aqueous solutions, this anionite is indispensable for deep water demineralization systems, water treatment at thermal power plants (TPPs) and nuclear power plants (NPPs), as well as in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

Applications

Industrial Water Treatment: Utilized in mixed bed units (MBU) and multistage demineralization plants to produce ultra-pure water for thermal and nuclear power plants.
Chemical & Hydrometallurgical Industries: Used for the separation and concentration of rare elements, as well as the purification of process solutions and return waters from acidic impurities.
Food & Pharmaceutical Industries: Applied for deep purification and demineralization of process water required for the manufacturing of beverages, food products, and pharmaceuticals.
Wastewater Treatment: Highly effective in removing hazardous anionic complexes, nitrates, sulfates, and silicates from industrial effluents prior to discharge or recycling.

Key Advantages

High Exchange Capacity: The gel structure ensures maximum density of active functional groups, guaranteeing the thorough removal of even the most elusive anions (such as silicic acid).
Chemical & Thermal Stability: The resin maintains structural integrity across a wide pH range and exhibits excellent resistance to mechanical attrition and osmotic shock, significantly extending its service life.
Efficient Regeneration: Exceptional exchange kinetics allow for rapid and cost-effective regeneration using caustic soda ($NaOH$) solutions with minimal regenerant consumption.
Uniform Particle Size Distribution: A consistent bead size minimizes hydraulic resistance within the filter beds and prevents the wash-out of fine fractions from the system.

Storage & Transportation

  • Store in original moisture-proof packaging in dry, closed warehouse facilities at temperatures not lower than +2 °C.
  • Avoid freezing the resin, as ice formation can disrupt the bead structure. If frozen, allow the product to thaw completely at room temperature (+15…+20 °C) over several days before use.
  • Protect from direct sunlight and prolonged exposure to air to prevent the resin from drying out.
  • Transportation is permitted by all modes of covered transport in strict compliance with standard freight regulations. The product is classified as non-hazardous for transport. Shelf life is 1 year from the date of manufacture.
