Flocculant

Formula: (-CH₂CHCONH₂-) GOST/CAS: CAS 9003-05-8

Flocculant (a high-molecular-weight, water-soluble polymer based on polyacrylamide) is a highly efficient chemical agent that serves as a key component for liquid-solid separation, accelerated sedimentation, filtration, and sludge dewatering. The product comes in the form of a white or slightly yellowish granular powder (or emulsion) that is perfectly soluble in water. Due to its ability to form strong polymer bridges between dispersed particles, flocculant is indispensable in wastewater treatment, water purification, as well as in the mining, pulp and paper, and oil extraction industries.

Applications

Industrial Wastewater Treatment & Municipal Utilities: Used as a primary reagent to accelerate the sedimentation of suspended solids, thicken sludge, and ensure efficient dewatering on centrifuges and filter presses.
Mining Industry: Applied in mineral processing, concentrate thickening, and the clarification of process water and flotation tailings.
Oil Extraction & Drilling: Used as a component in drilling muds to stabilize wellbore walls, improve cuttings transport, and enhance oil recovery (EOR) technologies.
Pulp and Paper Industry: Acts as a retention and drainage aid for fibers and fillers, accelerating the dewatering of the paper web on the forming fabric of paper machines.

Key Advantages

High Flocculation Rate: Instantly binds fine-dispersed particles into large, durable flocs, significantly increasing the throughput and capacity of treatment facilities.
Wide Operating Range: Demonstrates high stability and performance across a broad range of medium pH levels and various temperature conditions.
Cost Efficiency: Features an ultra-low specific consumption rate. Minimum dosages of the working solution allow for the treatment of massive volumes of industrial effluents.
Environmental Safety: When properly dosed, the commercial form of the product binds completely into the sediment, does not disrupt the biological balance of water bodies, and is entirely safe for subsequent sludge disposal.

Storage & Transportation

  • Store in dry, cool, and well-ventilated warehouses in tightly sealed original packaging.
  • Recommended storage temperature range: 0 C to +35 C. Do not allow liquid (emulsion) forms of the product to freeze.
  • Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and moisture, as the powder product is highly hygroscopic and prone to caking.
  • Transportation is permitted by all types of covered transport, provided that container tightness is maintained. The material is not classified as a dangerous good (Hazard Class 9 applies only to specific cationic grades). Shelf life — 2 years.
