Polystyrene (PS)

Formula: (C8H8)n GOST/CAS: Соответствует международным стандартам качества (ISO) и нормам безопасности при контакте с пищевыми продуктами.

Polystyrene is a versatile thermoplastic polymer produced from the polymerization of styrene. It is characterized by high rigidity, excellent dielectric properties, and ease of processing. Due to its versatility, it is widely used in both crystal (GPPS) and high-impact (HIPS) forms across various industrial sectors.

Applications

Packaging & Food Industry: Production of disposable tableware, food containers, trays, and dairy packaging (yogurt cups).
Construction: Manufacturing of thermal insulation boards (EPS), sandwich panels, decorative moldings, and interior design elements.
Consumer Electronics: Enclosures for small appliances, refrigerator components, spools, switches, and other dielectric parts.
Medical & Consumer Goods: Disposable medical labware (Petri dishes), toys, stationery, and household fittings.

Key Advantages

High Clarity (for GPPS): Features excellent light transmission comparable to glass, making it ideal for transparent packaging.
Superior Processability: Low shrinkage and dimensional stability allow for the production of complex shapes via injection molding and extrusion.
Impact Resistance (for HIPS): Modified with rubber to provide high resistance to mechanical damage and stress cracking.
Chemical Stability: Resistant to acids, alkalis, and alcohols, ensuring durability in diverse environments.

Storage & Transportation

  • Store in a dry, enclosed, and well-ventilated area, away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
  • Shelf Life: 24 months from the production date when stored under recommended conditions.
