Starch Ethers

Formula: [C9H5O6]n GOST/CAS: 9049-76-7

Starch ethers (e.g., hydroxypropyl starch) are highly effective rheological additives obtained through the chemical modification of natural plant-based raw materials. They are specifically designed for use in dry building mixtures to improve their consistency, prevent material sagging on vertical surfaces, and enhance workability.

Applications

Tile Adhesives: Used to significantly increase slip resistance (thixotropy) when laying heavy tiles and porcelain stoneware on vertical surfaces.
Plasters and Putties (Cement and Gypsum-based): Improve the workability of the mortar, ensure surface smoothness during leveling, and reduce mixture adhesion to working tools.
Self-Leveling Floors: Applied as a stabilizer to prevent mixture segregation, settling of heavy aggregates, and water bleeding on the surface.
Masonry and Repair Mortars: Increase plasticity, improve adhesion to the substrate, and promote a more even distribution of moisture within the mortar.

Key Advantages

High Thickening Ability: Quickly and effectively increase the viscosity of construction mortars even at minimum dosages (from 0.01% to 0.05%).
Improved Rheology and Workability: Impart excellent plasticity to mortars, facilitate their application, and reduce fatigue during manual or machine application.
Synergistic Effect: Perfectly combine with cellulose ethers (HPMC, HEC), enhancing their water retention capacity and the overall performance characteristics of the mixture.
Eco-Friendly and Safe: Produced from renewable natural raw materials. Free of toxic substances and absolutely safe for humans and the environment.
