RDP (Redispersible Polymer Powder)

Formula: Сополимер VAE GOST/CAS: CAS 24937-78-8

RDP (Redispersible Polymer Powder) is a high-quality, multi-functional organic binding component produced by the spray-drying of a specialized water-based emulsion. When mixed with water, the powder easily redisperses back into a liquid emulsion, fully retaining the original properties of the polymer. Due to its unique ability to form a durable polymer film within mortar matrices, RDP is an indispensable additive in the manufacturing of modern dry-mix mortars, significantly improving their adhesion, flexibility, and long-term durability.

Applications

Tile Adhesives Manufacturing: Serves as the core polymer modifier for thin-set mortars (including C1 and C2 classifications). It ensures high bond strength to various substrates and prevents the sag of heavy tiles and large-format porcelain stoneware.
Self-Leveling Underlayments & Screeds: Used in flooring compounds to increase flexural and compressive strength, reduce shrinkage cracks, improve flowability, and enhance abrasion resistance.
External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS/EIFS): Incorporated into adhesive and base coat mortars for fixing insulation boards (EPS, mineral wool) and creating a flexible, mesh-reinforced protective layer.
Repair & Waterproofing Mortars: Applied as a polymer modifier in non-shrink repair mortars and rigid or semi-flexible waterproofing membranes to significantly reduce water permeability.

Key Advantages

Superior Adhesion & Cohesion: RDP forms a continuous polymer matrix within the cement structure, dramatically increasing the bond strength to difficult, non-porous, and low-absorption substrates.
Flexibility & Crack Resistance: It lowers the elastic modulus of the cement matrix, allowing the cured mortar to accommodate thermal and mechanical stress without cracking.
Stability & Workability: Manufactured under strict quality control standards, ensuring consistent particle size, excellent wetting properties, and effortless distribution in dry mixes.
Water Retention: Optimizes the cement hydration process by retaining moisture within the fresh mortar, which is crucial when applying thin layers over highly porous substrates.

Storage & Transportation

  • Store in dry, cool warehouse areas in tightly sealed original packaging. Protect from high humidity.
  • Recommended temperature range: -10°C to +30°C. Avoid prolonged exposure to temperatures above +40°C to prevent powder caking under pressure.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight and avoid overloading pallets (do not stack pallets three or more tiers high without heavy-duty racking). The product is highly hygroscopic.
  • Transport is permitted by all types of covered vehicles, provided that packaging integrity and seal are maintained. The material is classified as non-hazardous for transport. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.
