Citric Acid (Monohydrate)

Citric acid is a white, odorless crystalline substance with a distinct, pleasant sour taste. It is a weak organic acid of natural origin (food additive E330). The product is highly soluble in water and ethyl alcohol. It is widely used as an acidity regulator, preservative, and antioxidant. Thanks to its excellent chelating properties, citric acid is in high demand not only in the food industry but also in the cosmetics industry, household chemicals production, and technical processes for the effective cleaning of surfaces from scale and corrosion.

Applications

Production of Dry Gypsum Mixes: Used as the primary setting retarder for gypsum plasters, putties, and self-leveling underlayments. It ensures optimal workability time and prevents premature drying of the mortar.

Cement Mortars and Concrete: Applied as an effective plasticizer and cement hydration retarder. It reduces water demand, increases density, improves ultimate strength, and enhances the crack resistance of the cured concrete.

Cosmetics and Perfumery: pH level regulation, an active component in bath bombs, creams, lotions, and chemical peels.

Industry and Water Treatment: Cleaning of heat exchangers, steam boilers, and pipes; used as a buffer solution and chelating agent.
