A defoamer (anti-foaming agent) is a specialized, highly effective chemical additive designed to prevent foam formation and rapidly break down existing gas bubbles in various liquid media. In the industrial sector, it serves as a critical component for optimizing technological processes where excessive foaming reduces equipment productivity, complicates packaging, or degrades final product quality. Thanks to its ability to directionally alter surface tension at the "liquid-gas" phase boundary, the defoamer ensures the structural uniformity of manufactured materials, prevents surface defects (craters, pinholes), and significantly improves the physical and mechanical properties of construction mixtures and coatings.
Applications
Paints, Coatings, and Polymers Production: Widely used in the production of water-dispersion paints, enamels, primers, and adhesives. It prevents air entrapment during pigment dispersion and packaging, ensuring a smooth, defect-free coating (eliminating micro-pinholes, "craters", and "fish-eyes").
Dry Building Mixtures and Concrete: Essential in formulations for self-leveling floors, waterproofing, and plasters (in powder form), as well as in concrete production alongside hyperplasticizers. Helps achieve a dense mortar structure without entrained air, which is critical for structural strength and frost resistance.
Industrial Cleaning and Water Treatment: Effectively suppresses and controls foam in biological and chemical treatment systems for industrial and municipal wastewater, as well as in circulatory cooling and equipment washing processes.
Chemical Synthesis and Oil Extraction: Applied in the production of various emulsions, synthetic lubricants, detergents (household and industrial chemicals), and as an additive in drilling fluids to stabilize their density.

Storage & Transportation
- Store in tightly closed original containers in covered, dry, and well-ventilated warehouses, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
- Liquid (emulsion) defoamer grades require a temperature regime of +5 °C to +35 °C (strictly protect from freezing). Powder grades must be protected from moisture (the product may clump).
- The guaranteed shelf life is typically 6 to 12 months from the date of manufacture (subject to strict temperature control and intact original packaging). Light stirring is recommended before using liquid forms.
