Formalin

Formalin is a clear, colorless liquid with a specific pungent, suffocating odor. It is an aqueous-methanolic solution of formaldehyde (typically around 37%). In the industrial sector, it serves as a crucial basic chemical raw material. Due to its high reactivity and strong antiseptic properties, formalin is widely used in the production of synthetic resins, plastics, and as an effective disinfectant.

Applications

Production of synthetic resins: Urea-formaldehyde, phenol-formaldehyde, and melamine-formaldehyde resins. It is a key component in the manufacturing of particleboards (PB), MDF, and plywood.

Agriculture and disinfection: Widely applied as a powerful antiseptic, fungicide, and bactericide. Used for disinfecting livestock premises and incubators, as well as for treating seeds and root crops prior to planting.

Medicine and biology: Used for the preservation of anatomical and zoological macro-preparations, embalming, and as a tissue fixative in microscopy.

Chemical synthesis: Applied in the production of dyes, tanning agents for the leather industry, plastics, isoprene, and various pharmaceutical preparations.

The guaranteed shelf life is 3 months from the date of manufacture (provided the storage conditions are strictly met).
