Caustic Soda Flakes 98% (Sodium Hydroxide, Lye) is a highly purified, strong alkaline compound in the form of white flakes. It is highly hygroscopic and boasts excellent solubility in water, releasing a significant amount of heat during the process. This food-grade product (registered as food additive E524) is widely used across both industrial manufacturing and the food industry for acidity regulation, fat saponification, and deep sanitary cleaning of processing equipment.
Applications
Food Industry (E524): Used for chemical peeling of fruits and vegetables, processing of cocoa powder, chocolate, and caramel, as well as glazing baked goods (such as pretzels) to give them their characteristic crispy crust. Acts as an acidity regulator.
Sanitation and CIP Cleaning: An indispensable component for Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems of technological equipment in dairy, brewery, and meat processing plants. Efficiently removes organic deposits, fats, proteins, and burnt residues.
Cosmetics and Household Chemicals: Serves as a key raw material in soap making (for saponifying oils and fats), manufacturing of hard soaps, shampoos, as well as highly effective drain cleaners and industrial detergent solutions.
Textile and Chemical Industries: Applied in the mercerization of cotton fabrics, silk production, neutralization of acids, as well as in water treatment and purification processes.

- Transportation can be carried out by all types of covered transport in accordance with the regulations for the transport of dangerous goods (Hazard Class 8, corrosive substance).
- Personal protective equipment (goggles, heavy-duty gloves, respirator) must be worn at all times when handling this product.
- The guaranteed shelf life is 1 year from the date of manufacture.
