Perlite

Formula: Смесь оксидов GOST/CAS: ГОСТ 10832-2009 / CAS 93763-70-3

Expanded Perlite is an eco-friendly and sterile thermal insulation material produced by the thermal treatment of volcanic glass. When rapidly heated to 900–1100°C, the water contained within evaporates, "exploding" the structure and increasing the grain volume by 10–20 times. The resulting product is a lightweight porous sand or gravel, white or light gray in color. Due to its porosity, perlite possesses a unique ability to retain moisture, provide excellent thermal and acoustic insulation, and is a completely non-combustible material.

Applications

Chemical Industry & Filtration: Utilized as a highly efficient auxiliary filter aid for clarifying chemical solutions, industrial liquids, vegetable/mineral oils, and petroleum products. It also serves as an inert carrier for catalysts and pigments.
Construction Chemistry & Dry Mixes: Used as a lightweight thermal insulation filler in the production of lightweight concrete, plasters, mortars, and loose-fill insulation. It effectively reduces the density and thermal conductivity of the final mixtures.
Agrochemistry & Horticulture (Agroperlite): Introduced into soil substrates to optimize water-air balance, retain moisture, and prevent soil compaction. It acts as an ideal, sterile carrier for fertilizers and liquid nutrients.
Environmental Protection & Spill Response: Applied as an effective sorbent for collecting oil, fuel, organic solvent, and toxic waste spills from both water and soil surfaces.

Key Advantages

Low Density & High Porosity: A highly developed system of open and closed pores guarantees minimal bulk weight paired with exceptional thermal and acoustic insulation performance.
High Sorption Capacity: Capable of absorbing liquids (including water and oils) in volumes many times its own weight, releasing them evenly into the external environment as needed.
Chemical & Thermal Inertness: Completely neutral to most acids and alkalis. It exhibits high fire resistance and withstands extreme temperatures (melting point exceeds 1100°C).
Eco-Friendliness & Bio-Stability: A natural mineral material that is non-toxic and free from volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions. It is entirely resistant to rotting, mold growth, and rodent damage.

Storage & Transportation

  • Store in dry, enclosed warehouse spaces protected from atmospheric precipitation and ground moisture.
  • Avoid mechanical damage to the packaging to prevent excessive dust generation during handling.
  • The material is non-combustible, fireproof, and explosion-safe.
  • Transportation is permitted by all types of covered transport in accordance with standard freight regulations. The product is not classified as a dangerous good (ADR hazard class is not applicable).
  • Guaranteed shelf life is unlimited, provided the packaging remains sealed and protected from moisture.
